This 32-hour course is designed to provide the new fire investigator with the requisite knowledge necessary to properly determine the origin and cause of a fire, and to refresh the experienced fire investigator's current knowledge base as it relates to the scientific investigation of a fire scene. This course provides the basis for the IAAI Fire Investigation Technician (IAAI-FIT) designation and was written in accordance with NFPA 1033, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigators.
This course meets the requirements in Track-B toward IAAI-FIT designation. Please note that the application for the IAAI-FIT certification test is submitted separately through the IAAI (www.firearson.com).
